Re: Lost Light #25 (in 25 issue limited series)
i kind of agree with everyone. I think the first 50 issues were, almost without exception, the best TF fiction ever written, and yes among the best comics ever written. Of course they benefited massively from the tropes and cliche that had gone before it - its almost baffling to think this story exi...

Re: I'm not enjoying Lost Light
Agree the last few issues felt like a bit of a course correction (art aside). Some glimmer of old form. And Milne will be back for a few issues apparently (altho sadly not permenantly). I think the return to the LL will be telling in terms of whether the book is getting back to past glories. Also i ...

Re: I'm not enjoying Lost Light
Yeah I'm the same. I used to have genuine existential angst between issues now I don't even notice the wait. The book has gone from nurturing anticipation to a total lack of it. One thing that sits really ill with me - one of the reasons I think the book was/is popular is that it does have a certain...

Me too, although i feel it has kind of cut off some fun stuff mid flow - Uncanny Avengers for example i feel is a far far less interesting title post relaunch.
Or to put it another way: piss off inhuman.

Re: Awfully quiet here...
so, partly what Spencer said. Also my work has blocked the site and that was the time i tended to post most. I do find i have less to say about TFs these days - MTMTE is so blindingly good that i don't really feel the need to discuss how much i love it, i just bathe in it's brilliance and then retur...

Re: MTMTE 46
I think this is my new favourite issue. Between what i thought was a well handled discussion of mental illness (certainly for this medium), the usual quality character moments and a real sense of character growth (especially Max changing his MO rather than being stuck wanting to shoot every deceptic...

Re: PC language police strike again
You must be exhausted Rob. It must be tiring enough decrying people speaking on behalf of others whilst at the same time paranoidly stating what other people's motives are. To have to do that whilst also vigorously championing freedom through pseudo-nazi/hopkins hate speak. And there is so much inte...

Re: PC language police strike again
while i agree this incident is BS i am not sure that transposing it onto everyone who complains about stuff or points to in some cases legitimate offense is a valid jump. I'm not sure i would define being liberal as never opposing anything either, including the written word. There's a big difference...

I share everyone's concerns but enjoyed it (and last issue) nonetheless.
Having the two back to back seems pretty indulgent though, as has been said its like the quirk has been elevated to centre stage rather than providing a charming veneer.

On another SW note, apart from Terry Dodson's horrible art - the Star Wars books have also all been pretty much amazo as well.

Just caught up on the first two trades of Buffy Season 10 (currently cheap as **** on comixology). Totally, totally nailing it.
Agree on Thors.
The Secret Wars spins offs are generally good so far, despite being ultimately totally inconsequential I am guessing.

Agree.
I felt a little that the mystery element was a little similar to Delphi and the alternate lost light arcs in terms of set up.
Worth it for the community panel alone tho.
