Re: Lost Light #20 (spoilers)

Is there a lot more room for permadeath now? There's only five issues left, and it would appear that Mainframe, Slapdash, that guy with the visor and possibly Bluestreak have been killed. I was expecting Mirage to be resurrected somehow from a few issues back, but now it looks like there's not enoug...

Re: Lost Light #20 (spoilers)

He got the purple-y paint job to honour Skids' death, I think. I picked up both issues today and read them way too quickly. Two things are bothering me: 1) First Aid is there, but where are the other Protectobots, have they been zombified too? 2) In the solicit for Issue 21 you can see Rung on the c...

Re: I'm not enjoying Lost Light

It does feel like its crawling along a bit. The art is a big turnoff, its too cartoony when Jack Lawrence does it, and this other person just seems to sketch by. I miss Milne on this book so much. The mysteries keep me going, I was walking along today and it popped into my head about the Slaughterho...

Re: Lost Light #3

Clicker is a laser pointer. I think Rewind made reference to all the laser pointers (as a class type) being made redundant and disposed of waaaaay back in an early issue, possibly back in the teens when they first introduced Dominus Ambus!

Re: I'm not enjoying Lost Light

I agree with you. He's never bothered me much in the past, but this issue it seems like Rodimus is being a bratty little scumbag. Megatron could have slapped him silly and no-one would argue. I'm enjoying the story, but I don't feel the urgency that was there with earlier stories like Remain in Ligh...

Re: MTMTE #49

I think in the previous issue Froid revealed he'd made a deal with Sunder to source him some truly messed up minds, because these represent good eatin' for Sunder. The people on Rung's books should be the tastiest morsels.

The sweeter the sin, or something like that, he says...

Re: MTMTE #49

The crew did it, so it was vetted by Rodimus, Magnus & Megatron. They removed his arms, legs and voxbox because he's a master escape artist and smooth talker. Harsh, but it stops him getting away. Maybe its also because they may have no spark extraction capability on board, and the slow cell is gone.

Re: MTMTE #49

That close-up of Sunder's face in the previous issue, with the empty eyes, pointy teeth and evil smile would have scared the bejeezus out of me as kid. Proper brown trousers time, as Rick & Ade used to say! I think Sunder could have been an ace villain. Lots of potential and really freaky. It feels ...

Re: MTMTE 47

On Saturday morning on BBC2 they showed Beverly Hills Chihuahua. It was a brilliant film, and the relationship between the tough as nails ex-cop German Shepherd protecting the fish out of water Chihuahua felt (and looked) so much Cyclonus and Tailgate. The German Shepherd didn't help her because he ...

Hey Dalek, I was just watching your Youtube vid (posted above) and I was wondering what phone you were using to make that video, as its such a nice, crisp picture and the sound quality is good too (assuming you're not using an external mic).

Like the Furmanism's you casually dropped in there too!

Two TF comics on the go, that's great isn't it? And while I don't buy RID, with the latest Thundercracker-centred issue it looks like Barber is having fun playing around a little. I'm willing to hope he can change. Alex Milne for example, drew like Pat Lee's lovechild on the Megatron Origin 4-parter...

Re: Dark Cybertron Part Whatever

I've taken the same tack as Professor Smooth. I bought the first crossover issue, thought "Sod this", and haven't touched DC since. And that's been a really hard thing to do because I've loved getting MTMTE; it's given me that giddy kid feeling from the 80's of going to the newsagents to collect my ...

Re: Which G1'er would have had the most frustrating design?

I always remember this comment from Warpath's tech spec: 'Great strength, but helpless if upended'. The guy is wearing a concrete block on his feet. I guess when Bob Budiansky wrote the bio he was poking fun at the toy's appearance. Same would go for Seaspray. And I was going to say The Throttlebots...

Re: MTMTE 21 - SPOILERS!

Ah that's a good point. This happened in Eugenesis didn't it? Where Roberts made a point of Nightbeat being different in that he stayed all original, pock marks, damaged decals an' all. I didn't stop to think the same logic would apply to MTMTE. Now Rung was mint when Ratchet examined him. Also, Rat...

Re: MTMTE 21 - SPOILERS!

What was the significance of the bit Cyclonus picked up on when he said to Tailgate; "Hang on, you were born in Rivet's Field... and that was two weeks before Ark 1 took off". Was that to imply there's no way Tailgate would even have been a fourth class chicken soup dispenser on Ark 1 if he was the ...

Less than a day now. I hope my local has more than a few copies of each cover. I'm always a bit gutted when I can't get my hands on the cover I really want. Lost out on the Sgt. Peppers tribute for instance, and my own choice at the time meant that I left the issue with Tailgate on the cover where h...

Re: MTMTE 21 predictions

When is MTMTE 21 out? I did just try a search engine, but it threw up images of panels from the issue, and I've stopped looking at the previews since the early teens so I can buy and read the issue fresh.

19 and 20 seemed to come out less than a month apart... is 21 due next Wednesday?

One thing I noticed, and this'll probably sound daft but on the last page Tyrest says he can hear them singing. And the lyrics follow the same rhythm as 'There's a hole in my bucket, dear lisa, dear lisa'.

James Roberts must have known about it, as he and Barber collaborate a fair bit and Barber edits MTMTE, so I'd assume Roberts would have okayed the idea of Shockwave returning to the Senate despite blatantly looking to the rest of the planet like a criminal. Empurata is James Robert's creation, the ...

I'm assuming that Overlord, like Highbrow, Chromedome and Brainstorm in MTMTE have no Nebulan binary-bonded history of any sort? So maybe there are no compartment spaces on Overlord? Ununtrium-infused endoskeletons can still be destroyed though, right? Perceptor shot off Overlord's hand in LSotW, th...

It's dead interesting eh? One of the other things about the DJD is they all have odd, unique powers, not to mention more than one set of arms on the two biggest guys; Helex and Tesarus? Re: MTMTE #19

Ratchet's words to Ambulon and First Aid (that it would be a doddle to put them back together), niggled me a bit. Transformers in MTMTE seem to go through a lot of pain and, Fort Max aside, don't seem to suffer too much trauma. I mean, It was shocking seeing what happened to Twin Twist and Guzzle in...
